| Dredging and blasting are set to resume in the Kill van Kull within the next two weeks. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, along with the Port Authority, is deepening the main shipping channels leading to the New York Container Terminal in Mariners Harbor and the ports of New Jersey to a depth of 50 feet in order to accommodate the world’s largest container ships. The project will continue through 2013. |
